Dial It
The brick is back. Once upon a time mobile phones were so big and heavy if you hit someone on the head with one, you could kill them. And now a Chinese mobile phone maker is bringing the old clunkers back. Larger than other popular models on the market, they look retro but sport some pretty cool modern functions. You can take pictures with the phone’s 1.3 megapixel camera, listen to mp3s on it or connect it to the Internet through WAP technology. From Creative Technology, 101B, G/F, Sincere House Comm Podium, Mongkok.

Mint it
Little i Mirror mints are every girl’s lifesaver (breathsaver might be more appropriate). These handy little tins are filled with sugar free mints and have a mirror installed into the tin so you can check for the odd green thing stuck in your teeth and have fresh breath before meeting your date. Available in Chocolate, Citrus and Peppermint flavours in a cute pink tin, these things are definitely handy. Pick them up at GREAT.

Read It
It’s happy hour for bookworms. The Cattle Depot Book Fair 2006 from December 1 to 4 includes the 1st Cattle Book Award and a local tour which takes book lovers en route to the most extraordinary books in Hong Kong. Bands from Harbour Records will play the closing show from 8 – 10pm. Head to Cattle Depot Artists Village at 63 Ma Tau Kok Road, To Kwa Wan for some cultural fun!

Pump It
Although it may look like something from an accupuncturist’s clinic, this is the latest vacuum tube amplifier from JVC. The source for awesome sound, it looks pretty cool and is easily connected to your iPod or PMP player with an RCA cable. Light green bars on the Cat’s Eye Tube will even dance with your music. Pump up the volume in style! Available at City Super stores in Time Square, Harbour City, New Town Plaza and‑Log-on at Festival Walk.

Eye it
If you’d rather spend your lunch hour beautifying yourself than eating, Neoface Clinic has just the thing for you. They’ve just introduced Eyes by Thermage – a new treatment that smoothes wrinkles and tightens eyelids in just one hour. Best thing about it? It’s non-surgical, so no fear of needles can keep you away. Check out www.neofaceclinic.com

Wind it
For those of you out there who have been searching for it, the DVD rewinder is finally available. For only US$16.49 you can have your own. It rewinds all those DVDs for you, and also cleans them too. Perfect for yourself, or a friend as the site says. Check out www.dvdrewinder.com
