Study it
Wikipedia may be tempting but let’s take a look at the original – the 32 volumes of the updated Encyclopedia Britannica has just been released. Forty-four million words cover the breadth of human knowledge, including new articles on bird flu, Sikhism and, um, Denzel Washington. I am not sure where anybody could find the space for it, but if there is one book (or is that 32?) for knowledge (and forbearance) you should read in your life, this would be it. A bargain at $13,950, call 2356 5555 for details. |

Design it
Your clothes tell people something about you, so why not make it more obvious? At Udesign you can create a slogan and/or graphic, design a layout and heat transfer it onto a t-shirt all in an instant. Rick Chu and Lister Woo, masterminds behind the company, hope not only to give people the opportunity to customize their clothing, but also to build a community by posting profiles and pictures of the self-designed t-shirts on their website. They are running graphic workshops on Fridays from 7-9pm and slogan workshops on Wednesdays at the same times. But if you already know what you want, drop into the store any time to get creative and walk out fabulous. Check out www.udesignshop.com for opening times and address. Enquiries: 2663 3524. |

Film it You may be able to name all the characters in Ocean’s 11, but have you seen Ocean’s 10? WWF are on a mission to educate us about 10 local marine species and have put up a diving trip to search for them as the prize in the Gift to Ocean’s 10 Multimedia Creativity Competition. Send your work, either digital image or short film to WWF, where adventurer Rebecca Lee and award-winning director Pang Ho Cheung among others will judge if you are to be one of the six winners to go swimming with the lovely Chinese white dolphin. Entries close on February 28, 2007. For details, see http://www.wwf.org.hk/oceans10. |
