Rising Star

Say Mika is London’s answer to the Scissor Sisters and you would be wrong – he is much more than that. Born in Beirut, raised in Paris, he kicked off his music career in London and proved to be a natural born entertainer. His debut No 1 album, Life in Cartoon Motion, successfully blends Queen, Elton John, Scissor Sisters and Beck. Songs include the funk-rock poppy Big Girl (You Are Beautiful), edgy Billy Brown and uplifting Love Today. To win a copy of the album, tell us how many weeks his debut single, Grace Kelly, ruled the UK charts?

Easter Fun

You just cannot put the words ‘blockbuster’ and ‘Easter’ together without the House of Mouse slavering in the undergrowth somewhere. Yep, Disney is wooing the holiday crowds with its latest, Meet The Robinsons, a blockbuster hopeful about Lewis, a boy-genius with a love of gizmos and gadgets and his hilarious family. We are giving away a pair of preview tickets and a cute folder for a screening on April 1 at 10am, MCL Causeway Bay JP to those who answer quick enough: who is the author of A Day with Wilbur Robinson, the book on which the movie is based?

Kinky

Featuring the voices of Robert De Niro, Madonna and Snoop Dogg, Luc Besson’s Arthur and the Minimoys is a part live-action, part CG romp set in the 1960s. A young boy goes for help to save his grandfather’s house from demolition to a mythical land of creatures living at one with nature. The 1960s? Creatures living one with nature? Psychedelic, man! To see the picture – free and with a friend, of course – on April 1 at 9pm at the Cultural Center, answer this: name the actress who plays the grandma in the movie.

Primal Horror

Enjoy wild life a lot? Then maybe you will take to a serial killer that claimed 300 victims. Primeval was inspired by the true story of a crocodile that thought God made African villagers specifically for dinner. It is also the story (less true) of a bloodthirsty warlord and the cutest prisoner in history and lady-killing Dominic Purcell (Prison Break) who gets caught between the two killers. To win a pair of tickets to the film (not bloodstained, we swear), tell us the director of the movie.

Win A Sevens Ticket & Sevens Gear

North is the new South and with tickets more valuable than their weight in gold - how scarce are this year’s Sevens tickets! - the only way to be there now is to win with bc. Thanks to the hard working HKRFU and our good friends at Kukri who have chipped in with some great merchandise from their 2007 collection to ensure you’re looking sharp when you get there. We have one ticket and we are giving it to some lucky person who can tell us the correct answers to two questions.
Ticket competition question part 1 (part 2 in our 28 March, Rugby Sevens issue). What was the first team Hong Kong played against in the inaugural Sevens?
Look sharp with Kukri, the 2007 Sevens collection is now on sale at the Landmark Merchandise Store (B11-12, Landmark, 2526 0860) - or you can win here. We have 2007 white yacht shirts, maroon polos, retro t-shirts, mesh sweats, women’s t-shirts and pink polos to give away if you know how many people are on the pitch at the start of a sevens game?

Angels’ Voices

Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc, the boys’ choir in the film Les Choristes, will be performing three shows in the Queen Elizabeth Stadium on March 30 and 31. Their programme includes songs from the movie and classics like Ave Maria and Amazing Grace. We are willing to part with five pairs of ticket for the afternoon show on March 31 in exchange for the right answer to the question: which year was the choir founded?
