Tank It
Amazon.com is selling a special armoured steel tank – a ‘JL421 Badonkadonk Land Cruiser/Tank’ created by a company called Nao Design. The steel-shelled body has a rusty patina and slat-protected windows while the wheels are protected from enemy fire by a rubberized skirt. Usually drivers operate seated within the tank but they can also poke their heads out and drive while standing up. The tank’s weighs around 500kg, its dimensions are 9’6”x4’7”x4’9” and it can carry five people. With a top speed of 40mph (64km/hr), the JL421 is equipped with a 400-watt sound system, incorporating a PA, that projects sound both into and outside the tank. And lound noise is about as dangerous as it’ll get – sorry, no, it doesn’t come with a laser beam canon or any other fire-power for that matter. Still, it is all yours for US$19,999.95 – order it now and you could be tanking it through Central in style within a couple of months. |

Format IT
Are you sure that your brain is well formatted? Nicholas A. Carter and Felice A. Luftschein have come out with an arresting earring they call the HTML HEAD. These sterling silver danglers may look like normal square shaped earrings with <HEAD> and </HEAD> engraved on them. But with these two codes besides your head your brain, like a computer, has been correctly ‘formatted with tags’. The earrings cost $160 from www.etsy.com. Simple and sharp, they may just make you a whole lot smarter. |

Hug It
One of the world’s most popular campaigns, Free Hugs, is coming to Hong Kong on June 15! Known here as FX Free Hugs Nite, it will be an opportunity for Hong Kongers to wrap their arms around each other and share a little comradeship, if not love. Huggable FX girls will be handing out material about the campaign which started when Jason Hunter created free-hugs.com in 2001. Australian Juan Mann thought it a great idea and spread it through the world with a short video about a Free Hugs campaign in Sydney which he put onto Youtube in 2004. Millions of people watched it and free hugs were consequently given and taken around the globe. Now it is Hong Kong’s turn. Free hugging starts at 9pm and runs to 11pm. Flaunt It
The dictionary might define lingerie rather flatly as “women’s underwear and nightclothes” but the word has always conjured images of more than cotton briefs and flannelette nightgowns. Lingerie shops are filled with lacy numbers in often blatant colours intended to entice even the more staid of madams. And they sell – what woman doesn’t like to feel something in silk and lace close to her skin? For Agent Provocateur, not only does lingerie mean briefs, strings and nipple caps that leave little to the imagination but also whips, paddles, masks, gloves and the type of jewellery that might make a lady feel a little ‘dominant’. All in the classiest way, of course. Agent Provocateur is now in Hong Kong – opening hours for the shop in IFC Mall, Central are Monday to Sunday 10am to 9pm.
