13. Wow, has it been so long… This is the thirteenth anniversary issue of bc magazine. Our first issue launched on 1 September 1994: it was then and still is now, an amazing feeling to watch people read and enjoy something you have created. I think I may have written that in other anniversary editorials but here I am writing the same thing once more because it’s true.

I did want to try and write something worthy of an anniversary issue here but really what needs to be celebrated here: are the hardworking people who have contributed to producing 239 issues of bc magazine. It has been my pleasure to have worked with some amazingly talented people over the last 13 years and I would like to thank them all for their contributions large and small. Our advertisers, who have supported us, thank you so much, without you we wouldn’t be here. Our readers, without you we would be nothing, we hope you have enjoyed the read and will continue to do so over the next thirteen and more years.

Anniversaries are about celebrating, and as much as I want to celebrate bc’s anniversary – I also want to celebrate Hong Kong: it’s my home and I love it. And I want to celebrate life: life is for the living so enjoy it. In our crazy 24 hour city, life goes by pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
