Halo It
Ok, we’re not great fans of the X-box, we’re Wii fanatics all the way – it’s great and doesn’t scratch our game discs. But we can’t deny that Bungie, one of the companies that Microsoft bought, created a truly wonderful game with Halo for the X-box range of consoles. After a 3 year wait, Halo 3 hit the shelves of stores everywhere – pre-orders in the US alone were over 1 million – late last month. For those who don’t know yet, Halo 3 is a first person shooter (FPS) where once again you are Master Chief a United Nations Space Command Spartan super soldier fighting the Covenant and the Flood to protect earth and humankind. Although playable in single player mode, Halo 3 really shines in multiplayer mode where you can play with friends locally or over the internet. New weapons and new challenges make this a worthy sequel. www.halo3.com

A cultural, musical and literary icon of more than 1,000 issues, Rolling Stone, which only a few years ago seemed in terminal decline, is once again required reading. The magazine fostered some of the greatest journalistic minds of the 20th century: Hunter S Thompson wrote Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas for it, Tom Wolfe gave it The Right Stuff and Annie Leibovitz, staff photographer from 1970 to 1983, recently said she is particularly proud of her work, which includes that famous cover shot of an intertwined John and Yoko, for the magazine. To coincide with its 40th anniversary, Rolling Stone is scanning over 125,000 pages and releasing its complete archive on DVD. Entitled Rolling Stone Cover-to-Cover: The First 40 Years, the DVD will cost US$125, for which you’ll be able to search for every article, review and photograph that appeared in print. Pink It
Breast cancer affects everyone; while not as prevalent in men as in women, it is just as deadly. Based on US data, breast cancer is the fifth most prevalent cause of cancer death – after lung, stomach, liver and colon cancers respectively. Among women throughout the world, breast cancer is the most common type and most frequent cause of cancer death. In the US, women have a 1 in 8 chance of developing breast cancer, but early detection and treatment can dramatically reduce the chances of it being fatal. October has become breast cancer awareness month worldwide and, on October 26, the HK Cancer Fund is holding a Dress Pink Day to raise awareness that regular check-ups and early detection are vital. How can you show your support? Wear something pink on the day, and spread the ‘wear pink’ message among your friends. Visit www.cancer-fund.org for more information.than a matchbox, it fits easily into your pocket or bag and costs $2,100. Find out more www.itechdynamic.com/en/
