SUPER WOMEN
It’s the biggest annual tennis tournament in HK and it’s all about the ladies. Nine top names in international tennis will be coming to Victoria Park for the renamed JB Group Classic: Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, Ana Ivanovic, Anna Chakvetadze and others will battle it out as 2008 dawns. All, except Maria Sharapova, will also compete in the doubles competition. Last year proved quite spectacular as defending champion Kim Clijsters defeated the then No 2 Sharapova in the singles final. But with Clijsters now retired, we suppose it is all up for grabs. Tickets for the finals are $680, $580 and $280. Prices vary from day to day according to round as well as by seat location, so see the website for exact details. Call URBTIX on 2734 9009 for tickets.
