Ladies Day
And who said rugby is a blokes-only sport? Proving women can create as much excitement on the rugby field as men, the 11th HK Women’s Rugby Sevens Tournament will take place this year on March 27 and 28 at So Kon Po Sports Ground, across from the Hong Kong stadium. The Cup final will kick off at 6:42pm at HK Stadium. The tournament is slightly different this year in that all the countries invited will be sending national teams – last year’s final was contested between Australia and New Zealand, who were not national teams, but sadly the rugby unions of these two countries have declined to send representative teams this year. Still, twelve countries will be participating in this year’s tournament – including Fiji, France, Hong Kong, China, Canada, USA, and Thailand. Games are seven minutes each way, with two minutes intervals between halves, so head on down and catch the action.
