Ride It
This environmentally friendly H-Racer with an onboard hydrogen storage tank and fuel cell system was named as Best Invention of the Year 2006 by TIME magazine. Sadly you can’t drive this futuristic creation along the highways of our city right now. What we actually have is a working miniature – the real thing is currently under development. The possible future of motoring costs $1,980 from City’Super and you can call 2110 4966 to make further enquiries.

Explore It
‘Elegant’ and ‘delicate’ are how people might describe Agnès b. but the French designer does walk on the wild side once in a while. And the famous brand is doing just that with The Screening, the latest exhibition from French artist and film director Ariane Michel. A group of people were coerced into sitting in the middle of a forest in Basel last June to watch the projection of a film about, um, the forest, owls, ferrets and foxes. But that is what created the mise en abyme experience, a dream within a dream. From May 10 until August 9, Michel will transform the Agnès b.’s LIBRAIRIE GALERIE into a space where you can experience a similar adventure. Opening hours are 11:30am-8pm from Monday to Saturday. (1/F, 18 Wing Fung Street, Wanchai, 2869 5505)

Hype It
Think you are the next advertising tycoon? You can think big of course, but it is what you do that counts. Hosted by international advertising agency DDB partnering with ihaveanidea, Portfolio Night 6 is one of the world’s largest advertising recruitment events, to be held in 18 cities on May 8. Advertising students, junior copywriters and art directors, interactive art directors and designers with an advertising portfolio are welcome to join, present their work to the industry’s big shots, receive comments and, who knows, maybe become the next big, hyped-up star. For more information about the event, head over to http://portfolionight.com

Hi-def It
Not everyone may yet know exactly what digital broadcast TV is but, just like every trend, it will soon be an exclusively HDTV world – not only in your home, but in your personal vehicle too. Alpha has recently launched the AC-DMB1000 Digital TV tuner for cars – it is the first of its kind and fully supports digital broadcast in Hong Kong and mainland China. We are totally committed to safe and considerate driving, but if those in the backseat demand a hi-definition experience, it can be theirs for just $1,980. Call 3151 7017 for more information.

Louden It
If you don’t own an iPod touch or iPhone these days, you are just so – well, not there. Walk through Causeway Bay and Central and it seems every cool dude has one in their hand. And who can blame them? The slim, edgy design of the iPhone has almost everything you need – life condensed into a 135gm rectangular appliance! And there is not much point to the device if you don’t play music and watch movies on it, so you will want to know about the newly introduced iPhone speakers by DLO. They come as a set of two that can be neatly snapped together to create a six-inch ‘ball’ you can store anywhere. The speakers cost $390 and for enquiries, call 2154 3888.
