Corporate Tennis
The Dr Henry Fok Corporate Patron League tennis competition that has been running for more than 15 years is a tournament for teams made up of full-time employees of a corporate business who are not professional tennis players or coaches. Each team enters two doubles pairs who play a multiple elimination format in the two preliminary rounds. The teams will then play single elimination draws based on their first round results. This year, 32 teams will take part, one of which will be made up of TVB stars – including actors Cheng Ka Wing and Dan Lau.

A5N Rugby
The HKBS Asian Five Nations rugby tournament continues as Hong Kong plays its first home match against Kazakhstan on May 3 at the HK Football Club. The Kazakhstan RFU was established in 1969 as a part of the USSR but, because of the break up of the communist union, it was disbanded and only reformed in 1993. Since then rugby has grown ever stronger in Kazakhstan and the country’s team were Asian Champs last year, surprisingly beating the Arabian Gulf. So when Hong Kong, the No 2 ranked team in Asia, takes the Kazakhs on, it certainly will not be an easy game. Still, as HKRFU’s Head of Performance, Ivan Torpey, says, “No game is going to be easy in this tournament.”
