Competitions

Go Speeding
So you’ve read about those lovely Speed Racer models and would love to have your own one for free. No problem. In fact, we are not giving you only one, but five. To win your 1:18 scale model Mach 5 and a set of 1:55 scale models of all four cars – Mach 5, Snake Oiler, Prince Kabala and Shooting Star – from the blockbuster movie, just answer this simple question: Who plays Speed’s best gal Trixie, in Speed Racer the Warner Bros movie?

The Diving Bell and The Butterfly
The Diving Bell and The Butterfly was originally the memoir of Elle France editor Jean-Dominique Bauby, who suffered a stroke that paralyzed his entire body, except his left eye, at the age of 43. Amazingly he managed to use a communication code developed by his therapist and his publisher’s assistant to blink out the book. Director Julian Schnabel adapted the heart-warming memoir and the film was nominated for four Oscars, including Best Director, last year. To win a copy of the DVD, just tell us the name of Schnabel’s previous directorial work.

Harmonica Americas
American harmonica virtuoso Robert Bonfiglio will be the featured performer at the City Chamber Orchestra of HK’s Harmonica Americas concert at 8pm on Saturday, May 24, at the Sha Tin Town Hall’s Auditorium. Andrew Sewell conducts. The five-piece programme includes Aaron Copland’s Three Latin American Sketches and Three American Sketches by British composer, arranger and record producer Sir George Martin (aka ‘the Fifth Beatle’). We have two pairs of tickets to this show to give away: To win a pair for yourself, tell us which British city the Beatles originally hailed from.
