‘Spirits Alive’ may sound like a convention of New-age psychics and mediums but it is actually an exhibition of Chinese portraiture painting. As the title suggests, although the paintings focus on the visual appearance of their subjects, they do so only to highlight their characteristics and spirituality. One hundred and twenty figure paintings and portraits from the Ming and Qing dynasties are on display on the 4th floor Gallery of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, the Gallery of Chinese Porcelain, the Macau Museum of Art and various other locations. Opening hours are from 10am to 7:00pm (closed on Mondays) For more , call (853) 8791 9814 or visit www.artmuseum.gov.mo.
