Moët Moments
If you want to carry on celebrating CNY with more bubbly (any excuse, right?), The Moët bar (The Shoppes at Four Seasons, Estrada de Baia de N Senhora da Esperanca, Taipa, 853 8118 9333) is the perfect place to go, with premium champagne in suitably stunning surroundings.

Nestled alongside such luxury designer shops as Dior and Louis Vuitton, the bar has been designed to translate champagne into architecture with its shades of pale gold and hanging mobiles simulating floating bubbles. A glass of Moët and Chandon Brut Impérial here is MOP$50 or MOP$280 for a bottle while Moët and Chandon Grand Vintage Rosé (vintage 2000) will set you back MOP$215 per glass and MOP$1,288 per bottle. The drinks menu also includes a wide range of quality wines and whiskeys, as well as a selection of cocktails, such as the Moët Mojito and Moët Nectar on Ice, both at MOP$99 a glass. And to make the occasion even more delicious, The Moët also serve a selection of savouries and sweets, including Balik salmon with champagne jelly, fresh herbs and crème fraiche (MOP$100), Boston lobster with French beans, lightly jellied tomato water and basil (MOP$90), white chocolate and lime mousse (MOP$45) and fruit sushi (MOP$40).

Members Only
Club Cubic (202, 2/F AIA Tower,
Nos. 251A – 301, Avenida, Comercial De Macau, 853 2828 6696), a new private-members club, looks set to become a popular clubbing destination. Measuring in at 8,500 square feet and with several million pecatas spent on the interior, the glamorous venue is split into two levels. The lower level is a clubbing hall, featuring a laser lighting system, state-of-the-art sound system and a DJ booth, and they are looking to host a string of guest DJs in the coming months. The upper level has seven individually designed VIP rooms able to fit up to 50 guests.

Footie Frenzy
The Manchester United Experience (Shop 2215, Level 3, The Grand Canal Shoppes, The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel, 853 8117 8008) has just opened with an interactive sporting experience like no other in Asia. Fans can immerse themselves in the history of Manchester United with a display of memorabilia and video highlights of the many events, both tragic and triumphant, to have rocked the club, watch some of Man U’s greatest games and get their hands on official merchandise on the lower retail level.

Those that fancy themselves as the next Rooney, Ronaldo or Ferdinand can test their soccer skills in high-tech training pods that measure awareness, dribbling, turning, shooting and goal-keeping. Future stars can even watch themselves on video immediately after the test or relive the action on the internet, with the highest scores of the day added to the Manchester United Experience Wall of Fame. More managerial types may prefer the ‘Match the Manager Game’, where players decide what to do at pivotal moments in the game – and see if their judgments match those of Sir Alex Ferguson.

If you are one of the 100 million plus followers of the club in Asia who can’t afford a trip to Manchester, never fear! With an all-access pass to Old Trafford at the Man U Experience, you will enter a replica of the players’ changing room, complete with jerseys and kitbags, and hear a virtual pep talk from Sir Alex Ferguson himself. Then catch a wave of adrenaline as you walk down the tunnel to line up alongside the players and enter the Theatre of Dreams, with 360-degree, high-definition, three-metre high screens to recreate the taste, smell, sights and sounds of a real match.

The Experience is open from 10am-11pm from Sunday to Thursday and 10-12am on Fridays and Saturdays. Passes are valid for 12 months: a fan pass costs MOP$98 for adults and MOP$60 for children (under 10, and accompanied by an adult) while a player pass, which includes a single use of each of the five training pods, costs MOP$128 for adults and MOP$98 for children. Top-ups for the passes cost MOP$10 per additional game.
