Defiance
Defiance is directed by Blood Diamond’s Edward Zwick and stars Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell as three brothers who stage a courageous stand against the Nazi machine during WWII. They are later joined by many others and the elder brothers, Tuvia and Zus, debate whether to welcome the newcomers in the growing forest population or stand up and start fighting the Germans. Equus
Stylus Theatre and director Daisy King will bring Peter Shaffer’s theatrical masterpiece Equus to the local stage on April 21. A recent West End revival made the play the talk of the town again as it starred Harry Potter actors Richard Griffiths and Daniel Radcliffe. But do not let that overshadow the brilliance of the play, which depicts a world-weary psychiatrist’s investigation into what drove a disturbed young man to blind six horses. The result is a thrilling exploration of spiritual and sexual confusion. To see Equus on stage, tell us in which year the play premiered and you may win one of the two pairs of tickets to the show at the Fringe Theatre on April 21 at 7:30pm.
