A pair of newlyweds are seduced into buying a car, at once an expensive toy and a symbol of a status they had not quite reached. Much comedy is generated by the young couple's obsession with the new acquisition and their struggles to make payment, but the film is also marked by moments of married life at once authentic and endearing.
