Terra Madre
This year’s Summer HKIFF’s Food, Glorious Food section features four delicious films closely related to food. The documentary Terra Madre, though, may leave you rethinking your eating habits once you leave the cinema. The 78-minute documentary follows food producers from over 130 countries to a Slow Food event in Turin, Italy that explores crucial food issues in today’s world. Directed by Ermanno Olmi, the film entered the 2009 Berlin Film Festival Berlinale Special. We have five pairs of tickets to give away for the August 23, 5pm screening at the HK Space Museum. To win, tell us what the name Terra Madre refers to.

Little Dragon
Little Dragon was formed by Swedish-Japanese vocalist Yukimi Nagano and her high school buddies Erik Bodin, Fredrik Källgren Wallin and Håkan Wirenstrand. The band’s debut self-titled album won the hearts of fans and critics with its mix of pop, soul, jazz and electro. To promote their second release Machine Dreams, the Gothenburg quartet will be playing at Grappa’s Cellar on August 7. You can get your tickets from HK Records, Love da Records or at the show venue, but we have two pairs to give away together with a copy of their first album. To get to see this amazing live act, tell us which electro jazz duo Nagano has also contributed her vocals to.

Tokyo Sonata
Kiyoshi Kurosawa last film Tokyo Sonata starring Teruyuki Kagawa, Kyôko Koizumi and Yû Koyanagi is now out on DVD. A film of two halves, absolutely wonderful in the first and a little dark and disjointed in the second – it may not be perfect but it’s streets ahead of most of the bland crap that’s appeared on the local cinema screens recently. If you want to enjoy it from the comfort of your own sofa we have three DVD copies to give away. Simple tell us the name of three of Kurosawa’s other films.
