DESCRIPTION:The New Year Countdown Celebrations will be the Hong Kong Tourist Board’s first celebratory event for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR. The fireworks display will be extended from 8 to 10 minutes and feature new fireworks patterns including a mock gun salute. And for the first time and we’ll quote the HKTB “there’ll be lighting effects for a stronger visual impact.” \nAs if the TST waterfront isn’t busy enough – and with the ‘Walk of Stars’ closed – even more packed on New Year’s Eve there will also be a ‘street party’ at the Tsim Sha Tsui Pier from 10pm where various artists will perform.
