SUMMARY:Plays for Young People III: Calling Emerging Translators
DESCRIPTION:Plays for Young People is a unique project organised by the Absolutely Fabulous Theatre Connection (AFTEC) that aims to nurture local translators and create quality translated plays in Chinese and English for young people. \nAfter two highly successful series in 2016 & 2018\, AFTEC is now calling for emerging translators for the third series. \nThis is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to partner with overseas playwrights and coordinators from Asia and Europe. Under the mentorship of veteran local translators\, you will translate unique plays written specifically for young people. \nTranslation of plays will be mainly from English to Chinese with also an opportunity to translate into English. \nEligibility:\nUndergraduates/ Postgraduates majoring in translation\nIndividuals interested in the translation of plays\nCultural aficionados (no expertise required\, just passion) \nEnrolment deadline: 9 July 2021\nFREE OF CHARGE\nDetails: www.aftec.hk/en/programme/plays-young-people-3-en/\nA maximum of 18 emerging translators will be selected from the shortlisted applicants after an interview.
