DESCRIPTION:The New Year Countdown Celebrations will be the Hong Kong Tourist Board’s first celebratory event for the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR. The fireworks display will be extended from 8 to 10 minutes and feature new fireworks patterns including a mock gun salute. And for the first time and we’ll quote the HKTB “there’ll be lighting effects for a stronger visual impact.” \nAs if the TST waterfront isn’t busy enough – and with the ‘Walk of Stars’ closed – even more packed on New Year’s Eve there will also be a ‘street party’ at the Tsim Sha Tsui Pier from 10pm where various artists will perform. DESCRIPTION:The sixth Victoria Harbour Race takes place on the 16th October from Lei Yue Mun Sam Ka Tsuen Public Pier to Quarry Bay Park Public Pier. \nThe race comprises two groups\, Racing and Leisure\, which have respective quotas of 600 and 2\,400 swimmers. There are seven categories in the Racing Group: Youth (aged 12 to 16)\, Open A (aged 17 to 34)\, Open B (aged 35 to 49)\, Open C (aged 50 or above)\, International (aged 14 or above)\, the Invitation Cup and the School category.
