Kim Jae Hwan Fan Meet @ Kitec – 30 July, 2019

Former lead singer of K-pop supergroup Wanna One, Kim Jae Hwan hosted his first solo fan meet at a packed Kitec Star Hall on 30 July, 2019. Thousands of fans screamed themselves hoarse as Kim performed tracks from his debut solo mini album Another, that was released earlier this year.

No Extradition Protest March – 21 July, 2019

When does a massive protest march seem small?

After the enormous So No to China Extradition protest marches of June which saw millions of HongKongers protesting. Today’s march which had around 350,000 participants seemed small – but it wasn’t! It was another blunt statement of anger at Chief Executive Carrie Lam and her disfunctio0nal and corrupt administration.

Nothing But Thieves brought their popular alt-rock sound to the Kitec’s Music Zone@E-Max on the 19 June, and a packed crowd enjoyed the band’s new tunes and popular oldies, culminating in a rousing encore of their hit Amsterdam.

New Makati 30th Anniversary – 17 May, 2019

New Makati hosted a party for regulars and friends on the 17 May, 2019 to celebrate its Thirtieth Anniversary. And a great time was had by one and all!

While it may not strictly be the bar’s 30th birthday (a previous owner didn’t life 4s, so the 4th, 14th and 24th anniversaries were skipped) New Makati / Makati is one of the oldest bars in Wanchai and if walls had ears the tales it might tell…

Korean pop star Jeong Eun Ji entertained a packed MacPherson Stadium, but a paltry 11 songs seems poor value for tickets which cost from $688 up to $1,488.

Hyun Bin Fan Meet @ Star Hall – 11 May, 2019

South Korean heartthrob actor Hyun Bin logged in with his fans at Star Hall answering fan questions and posed for a few photos with lucky fans.

Hyun, real name Kim Tae-pyung, made his debut in the tv series Bodyguard (2003) but achieved fame playing a leading role in the romantic comedy series My Name is Kim San-soon (2005 ), and then the lead in the film A Millionaire’s First Love (2006).

He recently starred, with Park Shin-hye, in the fantasy drama Memories of the Alhambra which has become one of the highest rated dramas in South Korean television history and was also shown on Netflix.

Kraftwerk Live in Hong Kong

Electro-pop titans Kraftwerk – Ralf Hütter, Henning Schmitz, Fritz Hilpert, Falk Grieffenhagen – returned to Hong Kong bringing their unique 3D Show to Kitec’s Star Hall on 29 April. 

The 19 song, two-hour performance fused music with art, including a unique visual for every city Kraftwerk visit on the tour. In last night’s performance, the group merged visuals of the Hong Kong skyline with futuristic animations including a UFO flying over the city – all presented in 3-D.
