Oxfam has announced the cancellation of TrailWalker 2025, scheduled for 28-30 November, to allow the government and rescuers to focus their resources on the Tai Po fire rescue effort.

Trailwalker began in Hong Kong in 1981 as a military training exercise for the elite Queen’s Gurkha Signals Regiment. In 1986 the event was opened to the public. Hong Kong’s ‘reunification’ with China in 1997 saw the retreat of the Gurkhas and Oxfam Hong Kong took over the event.
The 100km route along The MacLehose Trail begins in Pak Tam Chung, Sai Kung and ends at Po Leung Kuk Jockey Club Tai Tong Holiday Camp in Yuen Long.
