Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin energetic conducting saw the The Philadelphia Orchestra entertain a packed Venetian Theatre on Friday night. A diverse crowd enjoyed a programme comprising Dvořák Slavonic Dance, Op. 46, No. 1; Mozart Symphony No. 41 (“Jupiter”); Bernstein Overture to Candide; Smetana “The Moldau,” from Má vlast and
Tchaikovsky Romeo and Juliet which showcased the orchestra’s powerful sound and talented musicians.

Manny Pacquiao’s to fight in November in Macau

Manny Pacquiao

After signing a contract extension through 2016 with promoter Bob Arum and Top Rank, Arum confirmed that Manny Pacquiao’s next fight will be in Macau this November. His opponent, probably Juan Manuel Marquez who’s coming off of a big win over Mike Alvarado. If he declines, Top Rank plans to pursue Ruslan Provodnikov or Amir Khan.

Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin makes his inaugural tour with The Philadelphia Orchestra as it returns to The Venetian Macao to perform at the Venetian Theatre for The Philadelphia Orchestra 2014 China Residency & Tour of Asia on Friday 30 May. The orchestra will then team up with the Macao Orchestra to play another distinct programme for The Philadelphia Orchestra and Macao Orchestra Together in Concert Saturday, May 31.

The Script Road Concerts @ Venetian Macau - 29-30 March, 2014

The Script Road, Macau’s Annual Literary Festival, now in its third year offers a weekend of music at the Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arena on March 29 and 30. American singer-songwriter Cat Power and Brazilian rock and bossa nova legend Arnaldo Antunes pair off Saturday, while China’s hottest indie band, the Omnipotent Youth Society (萬能青年旅店), and singer-actress-novelist Tian Yuan (田原) team up Sunday for two Script Road Concerts set to entertain audiences over the last weekend in March.
