Google Looking to Censor Coverage of Charlie Hebdo Terror Attack

Today, over a year after the article was published google sent bc magazine a warning over bc’s coverage of the Charlie Hebdo terror attacks and our publishing of a series of iconic Charlie Hebdo covers.

In essence the warning was delete/censor the Charlie Hebdo covers article or we (google) will deactivate your adsense account and stop serving adverts to bcmagazine.net.

Here’s a link to the article www.bcmagazine.net/tag/satire/

bc magazine may not agree with every viewpoint expressed in Charlie Hebdo. But free speech and freedom of the press are two of the cornerstones of a modern society so we are 100% behind their right to use satire and humour to expose the absurd and ask questions of hypocrites – without getting shot.

Fuck off google!

Charlie Hebdo – Special Event

af charlie

In light of the recent terrorist attack in Paris, Alliance Française de Hong Kong will screen Daniel Leconte’s 2008 documentary It’s Hard Being Loved by Jerks about the satire magazine Charlie Hebdo, followed by a talk by local cartoonists.

Synopsis:
Because he reprinted the twelve Danish caricatures that sparked anger among Muslims worldwide, Philippe Val, the head of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, was summoned to appear before the court. Daniel Leconte follows in real time this highly unusual trial, wanting to decipher, with key figures, the political stakes at the international, idealogical and media level. Lawyers, witnesses, media, editorial conferences, support demonstrations come into play. Just as do the attitudes of intellectuals and politicians, and the reactions of protest and accusation from Muslim countries. It is a reflection on Islam, the press, and the state of opinion in French society, but also an attempt to respond to the challenges of fundamentalism to all democracies.
